Its time to mod!!! any suggestions for a MR

I am gonna be starting my modding soon!!! I have a MR so if anyone has any suggestions let me know!

I am looking for an exhaust, intake, boost controller, boost gauge, lowering springs, and maybe adding a fmic, lower and upper intercooler pipes, and lowering springs.

Any suggestions on brands and the power output they claim or you have received from those upgrades? I have been looking into the ams performance products because I am a local resident to their shop, but I want the best parts for the best performance.

I know the MR is limited on power the SST can handle I am hoping to get around 325-350 to the wheels so if you have a mod list that got you there please share.

I will also be getting a custom tune.

I am also looking into test pipes or high flow cats but dont want my cel on all the time so has anyone figured out a work around to not have the cel on?

I kinda wanted a dual exit exhaust but it seems like ams only currently has a single and the dual is a few months out according to them.

Please help as I want to complete this in the next 2 weeks... I have the itch!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

The tranny is limited by it's torque capacity. So when the car is tuned, you need to control the boost to keep the torque from going too high in the mid-range. I calculated that the tranny can handle about 400whp at 7k rpms (~300wtq, 375 lb-ft limit at the crank).

When the Garrett GT3071 drop-in comes out, I would suggest upgrading to that turbo as it'll be about a perfect match for the tranny.

You could get some coilovers to get rid of the wheel gap

How did you get to this conclusion?

You'll likely hit the torque limit of the tranny even without a tune. See this thread:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...no-tuning.html

With the MR, why not save your money and just do tune and boost controller, plus handling mods? You can easily hit the torque limit at sea level.

346 hp or tqq? What's the 35r kit? I noticed in your sig you have two boost controllers one manual and one digital any reason you have that setup

I have this setup beacuse you will find with the MR if you have an intake, you will find spiking issues and the intake cone flutters. The MR has a dual solenoid as standard to the blitz with the dual solenoid was a good choice, but the spiking worried me. With the two boost controllers the pressure has to pass through two barriers and reduces the causation of spiking.

346 at the wheels. The GT35r kit is a prototype which i'm sure AMS will realese.

What have you done to your car already?

400whp is about the max the 71mm compressor wheel in the GT3071 can flow, and that coincides with about the Max tq/hp the SST tranny can hold reliabily. And with the bigger A/R turbine housing compared to stock, and better flowing turbine wheel, it might even be achieveable on pump gas.

So if you go bigger, you're just going to lose spool up and response as the tranny can't handle any more torque anyways.
