Looking back, should you have bought a RA instead?

I think you mean that the WRX is worth more than the STi now. The RA has not been doing too well against competitors. Look up the articles on Motortrend and car and driver.

So...if you could turn the clocks back and get a full refund for your Evo X GSR/MR, buy the RA, tune it for $2k and pocket the difference, would you?
Hi Danny,

Definitely not and no regret for Evo X! Btw did you know just for Brembo Brakes alone cost you over Cdn$4~5k, those BBS wheels on MR + tires cost you over Cdn$5k etc.

I don't want to think I could've gotten better when I'm enjoying my car currently.

You loose some great features but if the money isnt right at the moment its not a bad idea to settle for it,sure you loose the name EVO but once you do your minor upgrades and are beating them evo X's your the winner on both sides of the fence...MONEY&POWER...of course its not a EVO but if your going to do intake, exhaust, bigger frount mount and pipping, exhaust mani and turbo, injectors, tune, clutch(dont know if they come stick) but your bolt ons your going to perform just as good as any evo with the same mods

Keep in mind that the RA shares the chassis with the lancer and not the evo. Fine for DD and even the drag strip, but not for track days. the body panels are also shared witht he lancer and not the evo..

on the otherhand.. i want those tail lights... the pinkies gotta go

Not a chance. I'd rather have the 09 WRX over the RA.

I sure as hell wouldn't. I came from an S2000 so handling is a big priority for me when it comes to cars. I prefer turns over straight line speed. That is why I went with the Evo over the RA.

Even then, I don't think I would have gotten the RA over the Evo for straight line speed either.

No, I love my GSR. I test drove the Ralliart before buying my GSR. In fact I waited months to buy just to check out the Ralliart. But I wanted the Recaro seats and the SSS package. They wanted $29K for the Ralliart (with SSS) and I was able to talk them down to $31K for the GSR with SSS. Looking back I'm so glad I got the GSR. For almost the same price I got so much more than the Ralliart could offer stock. BUT, If you take away the SSS and don't try to spend $$$ making the Ralliart as fast as a GSR the Ralliart at $26K is a better deal.

If you aren't going to the track ever and want a stylish 4-door (or soon to be 5-door) with a bit of EVO flavour the Ralliart is an excellent choice. It may not be as quick as a WRX in a straight line but it offers alot more features and IMO looks much nicer as the WRX looks too 'grocery getter' for my taste.

For me the RA was $26,000 OTD.
The Evo with SSS was $33,000 OTD.

Paying $110/month insurance > Paying $175/month insurance.

Everyone's tastes are different. The only thing the RA is better for is DD. I'd rather save my $7,000 put it into a home.
