PITA screw clips

Is it just me or are those screw/clips a PITA on the X? I'm talking about the screw slips that hold down the OEM snorkel and the wheel well lining. Its like if i use a screw driverand unscrew it they don't unscrew and after a few attemps the phillips pattern is all messed up because the plastic is super soft. Anyone have a good way of taking them off? I was thinking of replacing them with the clips that are used to hold in the under tray. Share your thoughts!

the clips on the x are 10000000x better than the one's on the 9. but do what casper said, dont put pessure on the screw head when unscrewing so it backs out by itself.

you can replace all of those plastic screw clips with the flat clips you can easily pop out with a flat head. it'll save you so much time and frustration.

The key is to not put any pressure on them and not to use anything powered.

You can also squeeze the back of the clip while turning it out.

If accessible use needle nose pliers and then use a screw driver. works like a charm.

I reach underneath the crossmember and push UP on the screw as I'm unscrewing it and it works like a charm. It is somewhat of reach, but I have relatively big hands and it's no problem. And I recently replaced the stock screw clips with ones I found at Lowes as well.

I use a knife and slide it up underneath the cap of them if they're particularly tough.
