How accurate is the Xs speedometer?

So I have owned my X for almost 3 months now. Sure, its definitely faster then my old Mugen, but why doesnt it feel a lot faster? Whenever I drive hard I look at the speedometer once in a while. The X is supposed to hit 60 in 2nd gear, right? Well Im always in 3rd for the most when it hits that mark. But today I noticed something driving home. I was driving it a little hard, shifting at around 6k RPMs or so, and when I was shifting from 2nd to 3rd, in the instant that I wasnt pressing the gas pedal, during that time the speedometer was still moving up. Then I started thinking,"maybe the speedometer is not quick enough to show the actual speed during hard accelaration?" The Mugen has a pretty quick and accurate digital speedometer, while the X is a traditional needle one. Well I dont have test intsruments to tests accelarations and compare the 2, I was wondering if anyone else has done this? Other then the auto mags of course.

If you have a Tomtom or Garmin use the speedometer function on that, it is accurate to within 99% in a straight line. Compare the reading to your dash speedo and compensate accordingly. Remember the dash speedo is tuned for a certain tire size so it's only as accurate as the tire diameter you roll on.

Have a garmin and it is accurate to within 1MPH at 110. (of course all data gathered on non-public highways and in compliance with all local, state and federal law )

In PA they have the have the K band radar on speed signs around tolls and construction sites and the Evo speedo is just about dead on with the radar, as well as my GPS.

The throttle doesn't close at the exact moment when you lift in the X, so it's possible that in the instant you got off the gas, but before you engaged the clutch, the throttle was still opened and you went a little faster. I haven't noticed this speedometer lag that you are talking about so I suspect that the electronic throttle is the culprit here in causing the speedometer to go up a bit.

Yeah, I hate that feature...although it does make it easier to rev match downshifts.

I don't remember anything about when accelerating since I havent't drove my X in 6 moths, But its a possible plausible theory. When you brake hard the needle deffinitly lags there and takes a sec to actually catch up.
