I'v got 400 miles on my x and and have a buschur stage 1 & 2 with flash on the way.
I mod my cars early but dont push them too hard till about 1000 miles.
Your right on about the cold air and overboost. It used to happen to me in my VIII.

I'm just planning on bolt-ons and a tune. I can de-modify the car at anytime with tools. Its not too bad. The hardest part so far has been the bolts on the cat.

I literally had to pull over on the freeway and let the car come to a complete stop before it finally settled down! I've had this issue with third gear since day one but never fifth... I just don't know about this vehicles build quality anymore!
This is a clutch disengagement issue most likely...take it in and tell them your clutch is dragging!
