Miles vs mods
My car has 1765 miles on it and has turboback exhaust, hks drop in, and a perrin turbo inlet, nothing crazy. This morning (14 degrees) I was getting onto I78 ripped on 3rd gear car went into limp mode, I'm assuming due to the temps the car overboosted. (I'll check with my scanner in about 20 min and update.) Now the question is when is it to early to mod, my car has been modded since a 800 miles. I've always thought if it breaks build it better
You think thats odd, I have no modifications present on my car and I was coming off an on ramp yesterday and the car refused to shift into fifth gear, had a nasty grinding noise (no matter how I tried shifting into the gear), so I let the vehicle slow down so I could grab another gear and it still refused! I literally had to pull over on the freeway and let the car come to a complete stop before it finally settled down! I've had this issue with third gear since day one but never fifth... I just don't know about this vehicles build quality anymore!

My car hit fuel cut, due to the mods, your car could fall into the trans issues these cars have. how many miles on your car? I dont think mine is odd, just thinking modding at low miles could be an issue you bring on yourself. Not letting the car fully break in may be an issue people may get little problems or such. i know going wot in a forced induction car at 14 degrees out is not good.
Yeah my transmission has been awkward since day one and modding early make affect the car, there's many different issues I'd had with acceleration on this vehicle, corks I guess? Good luck
18k miles, zero mods.. shifting is occasionally "crunchy" and the clutch isn't as responsive as I'd like, and the car is a bit slower than I'm used to,
BUT
other than that the car is fantastic! I'm driving on Alaskan winter roads with summer tires, the awd system on this vehicle is so good!

You know we've got throttle-by-wire gas pedals? Perhaps something plastic on the pedal broke in the cold weather. That'd be a guess. I heard guys laughing at my plastic throttle switch/pedal at a track-n-tune day. I blew it off til I read this post.
Let us know if the problem persists or if it corrected itself "magically" in different weather.

modding is winning, but if something happens are you going to demod? demodding is not hard for me since i run a shop, but how far do you go at low miles? next mods up for me are the cobb ic piping, ultimate racing fmic and a tune. all should be done by the end of the month.
