I'm 20 years old, and I had no problem driving both a GSR and MR. No credit check or anything either.

i test drove a X when they first came out no questions asked (except to see my DL). i think they were more willing to let me drive it because they saw that i already had an evo.

dealership i went to was pretty cool about it. they had all of their evo's indoors (one had a seat stolen) and they would've had to move some kias. i told them i want a 2010, probobly wouldn't buy it untill late spring (next year) and he still said to give him a call so he could get one out and we could take one of the '08s to lunch.

Thumbs up

I test drove mine, I pulled in with a mint 04 STi and after running my credit, they new I wasn't kidding. My score came back 824 baby.

The Evo was alot slower than my STi,but the ride was 10 better, that mean front end & color -plus those Recaro seats did it for me,and my GF really liked it too.

Well, I was lucky enough to get to my local Mitsu Dealership and the manager was nice enough to get me a good salesman. The salesman let me test drive an IX GSR and a X MR on the lot. I did test the car a little bit, but never anywhere near the redline. Then again I'm quite serious about buying the car too. LOL

I guess some salesman do discriminate because I went to this mercedes dealership somewhere in silver spring/ bethesda, MD with my friend and the salesman didn't even talk to me. I guess he only talked to my friend because my friend owned a Mercedes. I was invisible to him throughout the whole conversation. He never asked if I was interested in seeing any models (which I was at the time and I was in the market to shop for a new car), but that kind of just turned me away.

Too bad I test drove an Evo IX MR before going there. I guess most of the models that I could had driven on the mercedes lot would had felt like turtles anyways. This is why I'm on here and looking to buy an EVO! LOL

Actually, I made an appointment to go test drive a X GSR tomorrow at my local Mitsu dealership. I hope this salesman will be friendly like my previous salesman (they said he doesn't work in sales anymore...don't know why...guess I'll find out tomorrow...LOL)

Hi all, Been lurking for a few days on here and decided to sign up today. I'm in the market for a new car really soon. I've looked into so many cars already and can't make up my mind.

Today I went to a Mitsu dealer just to have a look at an Evo X because I've never seen one before. After reading this thread I wasn't even planning on getting to drive one. I was just randomly looking at the Evos on the lot when the sales lady asked me if I'm interested in a test drive. Five minutes later I had the keys in my hand and took it for a short drive.

Same thing happened to me and my dad when we were shopping for his car. Went to the Mercedes dealer and he wouldn't engage with us unless we initiated. it was almost like there was a level of arrogance in the salesman because we rolled up in a TL. Then went to a BMW showroom and were treated almost similarly, but in a milder manner. The best was Lexus. Those guys would treat you like a king even if you showed up with shorts and sandals. We ended up buying a GS300 AWD fully loaded for almost 50K on road. My dad lost all his enthusiasm for German brands and swore never to deal with them again.

Wow, that's hilarious!

Yeah, I don't know how you could ever handle that 139 lb-ft of torque.

Well, I test drove the X GSR yesterday and it was great. The salesman was good and brought me to a nice little road to test out the X GSR. I'm very convinced right now. The only thing holding me back right now is hearing from my job and working out the right deal. I hope to be in a new X GSR by the end of next month!!! =D

I went to look at a nex x with my wife and brother. They would not even open the door so I could see the inside of one unless I sat down and went over financing. We managed to park our 5-series off to the side of the lot so they did not see what I pulled up in. I told the salesman it was his loss and went back to my car. I then pulled my car infront of the dealership and asked for the general sales manager. When he came up to me I politley told him that I was not allowed to even see the inside of a evo x and told him to look at my mid 50's k car that I have a clear title for and then told him to have a good day.

Drove past the same dealership the other day and what ya know it is closed now.
