If you watch that training video...i think it tells you pull the car over, get out and open the hood and then wait for the car to cool down.

As for repeated launches, i don't know how good that would be for your car. Remember to "read your manual". I guess if you don't own an MR that's the only thing you can really add to this thread. Sometimes people amaze me.

You don't need to hold the ASC button. Just turn ASC off.

Watch this:

I had never even heard of this (though only had my evo a few days now), and I tried it on my way home (exactly as they describe in the video). Worked flawlessly.

Well .. if you log everything .. the REAL answer to that is YES you do (have to turn ASC ALL OFF) ..

Turn it off allows you to launch .. but if the wheel slips .. you get the reduction in your APP input and a consequently lowered power .. and if it continues to slip .. your ASC turns back on ..

Some things are never mentioned in the manual .. this is one of them ..

so does it cut power ?? YES it does with ASC off only ..

Gunzo, so you are saying that to just hit the button and turn ASC off may allow you to launch, but it still limits the performance unless you hold it for the beep, which is what you call ALL OFF. My question, If you then launch, keep the car running with all the same settings, let it cool down, do you need to do an ALL OFF again before you launch again? Thanks

No, ASC stays in the mode you set it unless you turn the car off. Just look at your dash. It tells you when ASC is OFF, and it really lets you know when it is ALL OFF.

Yes .. with ALL OFF you have a higher chance of successful launch .. I still haven't understand fully why there's failed launches .. its definitely not the ATF fluid temp .. it may be the clutch temp ..

The modes you select will remain until you shutdown the car ..

Other than the ASC off light and the beep, what do you mean by "really lets you know when it is ALL OFF"? Are you refering to performance improvment?
