I like it. The only bad things is doing searches require you to enter in the city which kinda sucks. Also POI's are very limited. It does get you to where you need to go though and looks great plus allows you to reset the maintenenace stuff as well as a variety of other features. I think dealer cost is about $1600 and I think it was worth it. Only bad thing is once we get rid of wife's car and the EVO goes to her, we'll have an extra Avic Z1 unit that not sure what to do with.

I'm a huge fan of the factory navi, I think it's worth it. I think the functionality is great and the OEM look definitely beats those shoddy aftermarket dash kits and shiny black plastic head units.

You can definitely get more for your money with an aftermarket navi unit, but I love my OEM one.

JD power ranks the Mitsubishi NAV system as the best in the industry so if you want factory NAV there's no better one to get.

Yes, I'm aware, but these are features that should have come from the factory. I shouldn't have to pay $100 in parts and take off my steering wheel and fire up my dremel if I want to have a basic control that most Suzuki and Kia's come with.

That's true (though there's no Dremel/cutting involved), but I figured that if you were that worked up over it that the half hour would be worth your time to rectify it. It was worth mine.

The dealer game me a discount on the navi when I bought my MR. It's worth it for me.the sound is just enough for me. No crazy loud bass sound. Plus it looks nice on the dash.

hmmm, if you are prone to traveling to areas you're not familiar with i'd say yes, if you're a homebody i'd say no.

I originally bought mine without it. After seeing/using/reading about them I knew I made a mistake. Luckily I was able to find one on ebay for much cheaper than the 2k the dealer wanted so in the end all was good.

Can you get a more feature filled aftermarket unit for cheaper? Of course. My main concern was OEM look and plug and play installation. All aftermarket setups I've seen just don't look quite right, again just my opinion.

Oh yea, having the Nav makes the interior look closer to what a $30K + car should. Without it...man things are BARE!

Could it be that you two are just used to the way Honda does things and are having to unlearn their version of ergonomics? When I started selling Hondas, Mitsu didn't even offer Nav, so it was the first system I learned and I thought it was awkward, but I got used to it. Then I started selling Cadillacs and other luxury cars and saw how utterly impossible it seeemed for me to get used to the way BMW and Mercedes did theres. The new CTS, however, seemed to be the most intuitive of all to me - but they all have their OWN way of doing things and they force the user to comply.

I haven't used Mitsus yet, but from what I have read, its gotten good reviews. I will definitely get it when I get an X.

Some people want everything from the factory, pay a little more for it, but never want to change anything out. Which is fine too...
+7,000. Subaru wanted 1.5k more for one with navi. I can go get a much better nav unit installed that comes with bluetooth and tons of other features for less. (That Pioneer mentioned earlier is actually what I've been thinking about)

By not having the nav, are you missing out on some of the 'minor toys' ?

Navi also integrates with radio to give traffic data (i.e. where all the jams are) - not all separate systems will do this.
Are there really no other ways to control those things without the Navi? There has to be some way. I turned off my beeping while arming/disarming in the STi today, required a crazy process, but it was still able to be shut off even without the nav. It'd be stupid if Mitsu required you have that or go to a dealer to have those options changed.

Not all aftermarket systems will, but there are plenty that will for sure.

If you want to spend that kind of money I would wait untill azentek releases there carputer.

Wont have to deal with the dvd in motion, aux in motion. Plus what ever y can do on a computer u can do on this.

Check it out before you make a commitment to go with the OEM navi. Or some of the options these others have said as well

Dont wait on this ive been waiting two years. this company is b.s.
