Love the Navi, but sometimes it can be a pain to use. It's worth it though, imo. Most of the time, great to use, and looks a lot better than that ugly radio dash. Also has other functions like the HDD and maintenance dates

In my opinion it is not...

After being used to the Acura//Honda navigation for 2 years, the user interface of the Mitsubishi navigation is utter crap.

The fact that you can only rip CDs to the HDD, and the fact that it takes forever kind of negates that feature in my mind. Who the hell wants to sit there and feed it CDs all day to rip ? If it could copy mp3s from DVD's, it'd be so much better.

The maintenance stuff, okay, thats kind of useful, but who needs an altimeter in bar graph form on the nav screen?

i have the Navi, its nice, has some good features to it. But the user interface is difficult/not as user friendly compared to the Honda/Acura systems. I still have trouble using it sometimes. It functions well tho in terms of guiding you to where you need to go.

I don't have the factory nav in my car, but have used/played around with it at the dealer. To me it is NOT worth $2k. For 2k you can get a nice aftermarket nav (with HDD) a lot of other features, AND a new amp/speakers/subwoofer too. But I'm more into changing the stereo than others. Some people want everything from the factory, pay a little more for it, but never want to change anything out. Which is fine too...

I'm not sure it's worth $2000. It's a nice feature and when I bought my car, I was offered the Navi for $1000 more so I took it. Like some of the other guys have mentioned, it's not the best unit out there and the software is a bit dated (2006) but it's not bad. I easily do it over again, if I was offered it for what I paid. Partly because the stock radio looks like crap.

Mitsubishi has a long way to go in terms of usability in their vehicles. The navigation is just not intuitive or user friendly at all. Especially when you factor in the ******* steering wheel doesn't have audio controls. I mean seriously, I've flicked that thing maybe 6 times. Steering wheel audio controls get used every day and would go along way in improving the Nav system because I wouldn't have to peck on the same thing to change radio stations.

Mitsu gets a big old FAIL on the usability front.

I got the Pioneer F90BT for $700 and it is vastly superior to the factory nav, to include voice control over your IPOD. Even with the dask kit and install, you're under a grand. Use the other grand on speakers and an amp and you'll have much better audio than those with SSS package. The "650 watt" Fosgate system is a joke--you can turn it to max volume and it's still not always loud enough, and don't even get me started on the actual quality of the sound.

The stock audio system in the MR is not very good. My wife's 2002 altima has a better stereo system. I wish I would have gotten the navi when I bought mine. At least the MR has audio controls on the steering wheel

Are you aware that you can install the stering wheel audio controls for under $100 and a half hour worth of work?

If you want to spend that kind of money I would wait untill azentek releases there carputer.

Wont have to deal with the dvd in motion, aux in motion. Plus what ever y can do on a computer u can do on this.

Check it out before you make a commitment to go with the OEM navi. Or some of the options these others have said as well

The nav gives you access to some of the car's setup features - like being able to control folding mirrors, alarm (on/off - flashing and beeping when arming, etC), headlight auto-on settings, etc.

By not having the nav, are you missing out on some of the 'minor toys' ?

Navi also integrates with radio to give traffic data (i.e. where all the jams are) - not all separate systems will do this.
