Holy hell, you're trading in your car with all those mods?

Gonna be rough, most dealers are having a harder time selling then MRs than the GSRs.

You're gonna get dinged pretty bad, this is a buyers market like none other. Having said that, if you can get an 08 new off the lot, dealers are getting some pretty serious kickbacks from Mitsu (as i understand it) to get them off the lot....they'll prolly give some leeway on your trade.

I was able to get a good amount more than Excellent condition blue book value for my trade in, an 08 4 door civic si. And they're a dime a dozen i feel like...

I am trading for many reasons, but i have spent the last 2 weeks putting back to stock and now want the power! lol i was thinking as it is the MR i should be decent with the price. Bettle Orange i have seen your car and you have put far too much time and effort to sell it, Why you want to do that? lol

Well guys as most of you know i have put a lot of time and effort into the MR. My goal was to have the fastest MR in the Mid West. I spent a lot of time putting on parts and countless amounts of research into the car. I know that car inside out.... knowing that i know the car as well as i do i am aware of the problem that the transmission is... My car is holding 346hp and not holding it well. I will open another thread explaing the problems with my trans exactly, but bottom line is the trans is too expensive if needed to be replaced (which mine does) and too much hastle not being serviceable.

Secondly, if you do truly want the power than you have to have a gsr at this time..... i say at this time because i am still holding out that eventually the MR will have an upgraded clutch system that will blow everyone away.

I am a Chicago downtown drver, and the auto is perfect for that, i really love having the option to just throw it in S-Sport mode and fly, but the fact that i am considering a gsr for driving downtown use hasn't been that big a deal.

I know the Mr wasn't made for the same capabilities as the gsr but i have a set of Kelford stage 2 cams and valve springs as well as a new turbo kit on its way and i know the car cannot handle that.

The last two weeks have been horrible due to the fact i have had to strip the car back to stock. Its like chopping a hand off lol...

i will keep you guys in formed and keep the questions coming guys.....

That's sad bro, your car is bada**. If power is the main reason driving you to a GSR, think about it hard man. The tc-sst is a new trany that people haven't really been able to open up and look at. With time and patients, the mods will b available and the power will be acquirable. Some guy in another thread put it in good words "Its like when the first people started to buy DVDs but VHS was still the big deal, or when people bought MP3s when CDs was still the norm"

All in all, ur call just make sure u think hard on it!

wow I never thought that X MRs would not handle power that well due to their different transmissions.

As for trading in your MR I would try to sell it first privately. You can get at least 2 to 3 grand more off a private buyer than on a trade. The only thing that is hurting private sells right now though are the incentives and 0% percent that alot of manufacturers are pushing on their new car purchases. Again that is to qualified buyers with good credit and not everyone. That being said I think this is where you can capitalize. Alot of younger people do not have great credit so if they are in the market for an EVO X then they would have to finance it traditionally as in paying for a used car rate.

I say finish putting it back to stock and clean it up really well and throw it on Autotrader or Cars.com. Whats a $160 bux gonna hurt to post it on either site and least give you the chance to make off better than what a dealer will end up raping you for.

Good luck

^ what private party would buy an MR with a known bad $9000 trans? At least mitsu can get it in their dealer stock and maybe warranty it out.
