Window tint problem
^ Yes, that's true, but you actually don't even need to remove the door panel off at all; if you unscrew literally 3 screws, you should be able to wedge open the door panel just enough to pull out the weather stripping (the thing you need to add felt to). The first door took about 10 minutes to figure out safely, the rest was easy. All in all, probably within an hour.

also...if somebody does this soon, could you take some pics? at least a couple pics of the screws that need to be removed and how to wedge the door open...that way the rest of us can do it confidently!

The pictures that the protector comes with are decent. I thought about doing the pics myself but I forgot about doing it as soon as I started the whole process... you'll also need to roll the windows all the way down to get easier access at the weather stripping, so just make sure the window parts are clean when you start so you don't scratch.

This always pisses me off when a car company cuts this corner. I had a SuperDuty that this happened to. The previous version didn't have this issue but when they redesigned the front fascia a bit (not the newest redesign, this was 05 I think) they apparently chintzed out on this and my tint got scratched to ****!
It's crazy, but I hear all kinds of people *****ing about how their tint is all scratched to hell on all the Lancers. I just don't have the same problem. I bought an 09 GTS, tinted it the next day, and after a year there was one scratch on the drivers side door, and nothing more. On my new Evo, it had tint when I bought it, and there are a couple of very mild scratches...
The special felt is made to keep small ricks and grains of dirt from scratching the tint. My Q is how they are getting in there in the first place.

It couldn't hurt to add it in if you have tint. Although I've read about people having glue-y streaks because of this protector... I personally haven't experienced this yet.
Look at the window with the sun shining on it is when mine was most noticeable. You could also run your fingernail along the window and feel them, but they were hard to see.
I would assume so, yes. Another person in this thread said he got his tint installed first, then installed the moleskin...because the soapy liquid used to install the tint could loosen up the adhesive on the moleskin strips. It really wouldn't matter in which order everything gets installed, as long as it's close enough to eachother to keep the film from scratching. However, if you are going to install the moleskin after you already have tint, i would probably not roll my windows down at all for a couple days after install to ensure the adhesive sets properly, and you dont get and glue streaks from the strips before they fully set.
