My Evo X stolen-then found

So I had my Evo X stolen from me 3 weeks ago. First the theives broke into my home and took my extra key (they found it by luck) and took a few other goodies. So I come home to find this and I say to myself, I need to get my car re-keyed the next day so they don't take it. Well about 8 hrs later they came back and took the car from a gated comuntiy. Isn't that nice.
The police called me today saying they found the car it looked like it had been through the Baja 1000. So I went to see the "remains" today at the towing lot. And it is actually in good shape. No body damage and the engine runs great. The rear A-arm is broke in half and the wheels are missing along with my freakin Recaros! I am going to have the mechanics put the car on a lift this week and see what the real damage is. From what I saw I should be able to get the car driving again for around $5,000. But it may be closer to 7 or 8 depending on damage. Hopfully the transmission isn't jacked.
When I get the car back to normal in the next couple of weeks I am going to either keep it or sell it to someone who knows what there doing and put some goodies in and have them selves a nice car. Right now the car only has 11,800 on it. Thanks for reading my long post guys.

Yep lojack is going in. The blue book on an Evo X with 11,800 miles on it is around $29,000, so I don't think it is totaled; unless there is serious damage to the undercarrage, the frame is bent or the transmission is broke. We shall see.

Truly sorry to hear about that.

The only thing that sucks worse than having your car stolen, is when the cops find it and someone has beat the **** out of it.

There's no telling what abuse they put your car through.

My 2 cents... leave it in a high crime area, running with the fastkey in it, -and hope that they don't find it this time!

Wow that sucks, sorry to hear that.. At least you found your baby in a pretty "decent shape", unlike me.. my GSXR 750 (07) and a LsVtec Teggy (mind you, it was sitting on TE37's and had a JDM front end.) were stolen from my CC school parking lot.... talk about luck uh?

p.s, dont mean to steal your thread,

Hope you keep your Evo.

Hey no problem. I get to see the total damage this week, and what it going to cost me to bring her back to life. Actually I think it may be a good project for someone looking for a car with low miles to rebuild and take it to the track.

Sucks it got stolen but at least you got it back But its going to be way more than 5k to fix I would get a quote and try to get a check from the insurance company and fix it yourself and pocket some money probably. The Factory Seat on the X's are sooo expensive So I would buy some nice aftermarket ones for the price GL man

Don t you have insurance on this? Why are you trying to find used seasts or discounted? I would think your insurance company will cover all costs?
