I'm surprised how many bought without the test drive - but then again this is an Evo we are talking about!

I agree with others that you don't want to test drive it unless you have the money to buy it. I bought an STI without test driving the EVO, then i test drove the evo months later and loved it much more than my STI. I wanted that STI as soon as i drove it though! I really enjoyed the chassis and turn in. Crashed my STI a couple months after that.

I won't let myself test drive the X. I am only allowing myself to look at used 9's once i have the money saved. I know i would buy the X if i test drove it.

i didn't test drive mine before the deal, hell, the sales team hadn't even driven one yet. I literally bought it off the truck (first one sold in DFW), just happened to be there getting my oil changed in my 9 the day the 10s hit the dealership. Even then, only had three choices for colour, luckily, there was a RR one with SSS & body kit. of course those options, coupled with such an early purchase, put it at 38k, but I didn't care. I love my Evo!

I never did coz I know what I want and the dealer I bought from did not have any test MR demo at that time.

I bought my X without driving one. Traded a Mugen Si for it. I'll be honest, when I first started driving it I was not impressed. But once the car was broken in and I had the reflash done at the dealer everything changed. I love the car now. In a few weeks I'll be putting an exhaust and getting it tuned and my mind will change again. I drove my friend's tuned X and it's like night and day.

i bought my evo x mr without test drive. its not because they dont allow its because nobody yet here in toronto have a evo x mr. but they have gsr and i cant drive a manual because of my left knee problem so i just ask my brother to test drive gsr while im on the passenger side. also ive waited 1 1/2 months after i signed before i get my car.

I have many customers that never ask to drive. Many that never even see their car. They just buy it over the web and have it shipped to them. We allow test drives but on the used evo x. None of the new ones are driven.

I have even had local customers buy the car and have a tow truck take it from here straight to their house. They do not want anyone to wash or drive their car.

You should test drive it. it will make you want it more or let you know if you dont like how it drives.

Guys I think his point is that if he does test drive it that his negotiation intentions will go right out the window.

You don't need to drive it, negotiate your price, agree to a price, THEN take it out, just prior to finalizing the deal... you're the buyer, you can go whatever route you want.

And just for kicks, I bought mine without even looking inside, I knew what I wanted, and knew what I wanted to pay, once they agreed to that I signed the papers and drove the car off the lot. Was exactly what I expected, of course it did help that I had previously owned an VIII.

didn't test drive mine at all... went straight to the dealership, and within three hours I was done and left. Next car I buy, I'll probably test drive it before I get it

My salesman said that should we be close to a deal, a test drive could be arranged. But my only concern was whether I was comfortable in the seat. I was so went through with the purchase. The car is everything I hoped it would be and have no regrets.
