Evo X Owners: Describe Your Work Commute

How long is your commute and what kind of roads/traffic do you encounter?

I am planning on getting an EvoX and was excited about the 20-30 min each way reverse traffic highway commute I was going to have, but it turns out I am moving now much closer to work and will only have a 10-15min commute in somewhat heavy neigboorhood traffic. I feel like this kind of commute will be more frusturating in an Evo. I still want it for fun on the weekends and going out to lunch, but I'm dissapointed I won't have my exciting daily on ramp acceleration.

i have a 20 min commute thats about 10 miles with half of that highway. The rest is urban streets with moderate traffic. No complaints here about having the evo. Even when things get backed up on the highway due to a wreck the car is not bad. I understand ur concern about not having the daily on-ramp romp (i look forward to mine every day after work haha) but if you miss it that much just take her out for lunch or something and hit a highway for a lil bit.

10 minutes either way, couple stop signs, 1 stop light. All 2 lane, highest posted speedlimit is 45mph.

Love it. I do the speedlimit and dont rip on her -- 22+ mpg.

Its not like you can only drive to and from work. Heh.

My commute takes 15-20 minutes. About half it it is highway and the other half is light to moderate traffic. It can be frustrating in the traffic, but that applies to both my Evo and Tundra. There is a drag strip/road course 10 minutes from my house and any frustration I have I can let it out there on the weekends, totally makes owning an Evo worth it.

I'm located in such a way that I can either jump on the interstate with everyone else and be at work in around 15 minutes, or I can take the country back roads with minimal traffic and be at work in around 30 minutes.

I usually pick the latter.

Less is more when it comes to commutes. My commute is a five minute walk and I love it.

Roll out of bed, turn computer on. That has been my commute for several days now.

The majority of my work is travel though, so I take my car to the airport, but sometimes I do a ton of travel with it... 100 miles each way for a week...

I had 4k miles on my x in a month. I've only put about 500 on it in the second month... go figure. It's bike season now tho so the Evo will get driven at night and if I'm going out...

My commute consists of 9 traffic lights and 1 stop sign. 4.5 miles or so with a maximum allowable speed of 40mph.

45 mile commute. 1 hour to 1.5 hours drive time. mainly highway. my x is what makes my commute semi enjoyable. i look at all the other schlubs on the road in their crv's being lulled to death with lack of excitement and realize how much better i got it. and when i hit traffic, i sit there with the anticipation of dropping the hammer again.

45 min commute 1 way, 5 days a week - 10 min city, the rest is semi-heavy traffic on highway. Frequent bumper-bumper traffic esp when leaving work. I look forward to the drive each time - being in the X makes me forget traffic conditions XD

Average MPG from the moment I get into the car till I get out is 21-24; prolly helps that I drive an MR - no question, I switch to automatic when traffic is slow.

one mile here. no lights, use neighborhood backroads

trip to gf's is a diff story. 20 miles. lots of ways to get there. i ALWAYS avoid 95 (major highway) so i avoid rock chips and traffic.
