This might be a dumb question, but I'm curious... are the wheels balanced from the factory? If not, is it advisable to have the wheels balanced to get more life out of the OEM tires?

 

Wheels are balanced but it seems some may have alignment issues.

I would definitely get the alignment checked. The last three mitsubishis that I've bought new have been out of alignment right out of the dealership. As far as the balance is concerned, they should be perfect. You never know, though. If at highway speed the wheel is shaking then yes, they need to be balanced.

 

I needed a front wheel re-balanced at only 100 km. Sucks because for whatever reason Mitsubishi is using those coated weights that you hammer on the edge of the rim making it impossible to remove them without leaving a blemish.

 

mainly alignment issues. balance will affect the ride more and u will notice it( vibration in the steering) and less on the wear. i only got 8k out of my factory tires cuz of alignment issues
