QTP electronic cutout question..

So I'm planning on getting one so I can go stealth. My question is will I have a problem with back pressure from my setup? Basically l'll be running it from my stock exhaust and adding the QTP somewhere before the cat. I'll only be running this at the track. I know there's one guy that's running it. Just want to know what everybody thinks. My main concern would be the pressure that it might have from the stock exhaust.

As a suggestion you should get the 3" DP in conjuction with the 3" Y pipe cutout to maximize your exhaust flow when the cutout is open. As for back pressure you have nothing to worry about you will loose a bit of power downlow and possible mid but your topend will be sick. Just make sure you get retuned.

I agree with what DBallz said.

I have the QTP cutout welded into my testpipe, and it runs great. Granted, I have a 3" Downpipe.

I notice a bit quicker spool up and when it hits boost its just obnoxiously loud.

You decide if that is good or bad..

Yeah about getting a tune. Do I really need it with a cutout? Like I said I'll be switching back and forth so would I need a tune everytime i have a close them open or just have it tune with it open?

It didn't effect my tune much at all. When I opened the cutout I gained about 7whp.

Granted, I have a full TBE. With your stock exhaust you should gain more like 20-30whp.

Please explain why would I see more gains with my stock exhaust? If it'll get me another 20hp I'll be stoked!

what he means is that you will notice more hp gains with the cutout open since you will be running a stock exhaust whereas he is running a turboback already.

you will need to get tune with the cutout open, also since the x's dp is so small, the only way you will be able to run it is if it is on the test pipe, so you would need to get rid of the cat no matter what.

i'd say after, you don't want to throw a cel when you run it open

But the rear one is so far back...I want to put mine right at the begining of the test pipe.

That's what I was thinking. There's no room after. Anyone running it before the o2 without throwing a cel?

I'm running it before the o2 sensor and I don't throw any cels with it open or closed.

I have the anti fouler mod on my o2 sensor though.
