What year is your M3? If it's a new one, do you agree with the article (acknowledging that we don't get the FQ's here)?

Did you see how on the telemetry lap he got fuel starvation for a couple seconds right at the end of his second lap in the X? He commented about only having half a tank.

I know lots of people commented about this so I thought I'd point it out.

nice article good read, its pretty much what I expected. The FQ400 at that price is not a better value than a M3. I just costs too much for a few extra HP over the FQ300.

The point of the FQ400 is not for the practicality... it's the exclusivity/rarity of it. There are thousands of M3s in major parts of the world. In comparison, how many FQ400s are out there? :P

Agreed. It's not a value equation. Everyone will do a double take when an FQ400 drives by. An M3 gets lost in traffic.

Not that I wouldn't take one in a heartbeat. They are very special cars.

That's the point of the M3 - you don't want to look like a flashy moron when you're 30, or mid 30's.. and have kids in their 20's revving at you.

I think the e92 M3 is one of the most well balanced and most enjoyable cars period.
If I want an evo with 400hp I'll go get one modded for less than 2, 3g on top of the base price. Everyone knows mitsu rarely honors their warranties anyway.

Since when does "exclusive" suddenly mean anything to Evo drivers?
When it performs better than another car fanboys say "see, that's what an evo is all about"
When it performs worse they say "see, the other car is more expensive, it's great for even being compared"
and against more mass produced cars they say "the point of this car is that it is more exclusive"
Bunch of bumbling...

Two reasons they're not making a lot of this car: 1, to force its exclusivity. 2, they're simply not going to sell that many. No one's going to shell out 50 grand (~80k US) for a hopped up Mitsubishi when you can get an m3, gt-r etc for the same money. Especially when you consider the age of people who can afford one.. Typically higher 20's, early 30's and beyond.

FQ400, a race car with a warranty, rare, mean and personally....i think better looking than the m3 as well...

the m3 is nice if you want a car to leave stock and just cruise around town feeling important and fast, but in total comfort...

the evo is about winning, raw power and handling and about visually telling other cars they arent good enough.

an M3 shouldnt be compared to an evo...it should be compared to audis and ****.

comparing an evo to an m3 is like comparing a ballet dancer to a stripper

The new M3 is an incredible machine much like like the Evo in that it's easy to drive fast. Having seen a few on the track, I've been very impressed with how they move.
