Tanabe USA Wants to Know...
Hello Everyone,
Last June, we held an R&D Session at our Torrance, California location to test brand new parts for aftermarket tuning.
http://www.tanabe-usa.com/rndnews.asp
Our next R&D Session is coming soon, and we'd like to know what suspension, chassis, and exhaust parts you'd be interestd in seeing for future productions.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with us, Tanabe is a longtime manufacturer of springs, coilovers, exhaust systems, and chassis bracing for Japanese cars.
That said, what parts would you guys be interested in seeing in the future? The application doesn't have to be specific to the chassis of this forum btw.

^This. Quiet exhaust options for the Evo X are very skimp. Tanabe has a reputation so I assume you're marketing division is sound but I would like to say that if the exhaust isn't properly priced or designed, no one will buy it.
I dont know if you guys have it for the evo x but i remember i used to have the super medallion racing exhaust in my 350z and it kicked ***!!! It came with optional silencers.

+1 for this and make it a single muffler dual exhaust. I really like the exhaust that Cobb just came out with but it's way too expensive for me. However, the exhaust note on it is about as good as it gets for 4-cyl and it isn't loud which makes it somewhat tempting still. Something similar in build to the Cobb without the $1200 price tag would get me interested. My list goes something like this:
FULL Stainless (piping, welds, hangers, etc.)
3" (76mm) from cat. to muffler
Single muffler, split-Y internal routing, dual outlet
Quiet
Ohh, and maybe make it available with different tips, with a Show (burnt Ti) and a "Stealth" (rolled oval similar to stock) option. I personally prefer the low-key look of the ovals as they won't draw as much (unwanted) attention, which is especially important I think if you live in a state like CA.

yes, yes, and yes to a quiet exhaust!!!
3" exhaust, ss piping, twin exit, medallion touring muffler...sweet but deep!
and a price that's competetive to most 08 Evo Systems out there [$650 - $850].

You practically read my mind.
Call me ****, but this would be my ideal exhaust from a manufacturer
1) Quiet (Most important for cop infested areas, like Northern Virginia)
2) Low Restriction 3" piping with least number of bends
3) Dual tip (Quad tip Optional for show n shine)
4) Optional HFC
5) Full turboback available in stages (useful for those with upgraded turbos)
As for the Coilover kit, if you could arrange for a full setup in stages. following is just an example:
stage 1: lowering springs for stock suspension.
stage 2: all 4 coilovers with whatever spring rates the customer wants
stage 3: remote adjustment with reservoirs for stage 1.
stage 4: Camber plates, sway bars and roll center correction kits in addition to stage 2
stage 5: all out of ideas, help me here guys
