I'm going to venture to say yes as driving on the track is more about heat management for the transmission than pounding through gears. I seem to observe most transmission problems in all iterations of the Evo coming from the drag racing crowd.

It could be a DD, but I have another car instead now. It drives surprisingly great around town though.

If I remember correctly, his engine is still bone stock internally, block and head. All the engine upgrades are exterior.

I honestly know very little about the 6-speed but I have read of people having issues. I've met a number of people with IX MRs that track them religiously who have never had a single issue.

Wasn't that mostly 4th gear? I thought it was thinner than 4th in the 5spd and was prone to overheating and failing.

Really DD? With no crash beams, airbags, spare, rear seats, mats, audio, a/c, etc. etc? Brave man! But we knew that

Yea, the 5spds turned out to be a bit stronger, and the X's 5 speed much stronger

He has a cage and 5 point harness. In a lot of ways I would take that over an airbag anyday.

Not without a helmet! Roll cages are bad without head protection.

Ryan is a cool guy, i am happy to hear where he is at with his car. Unlike most racers/vendors/etc... you PM them to ask them some questions, ignored. Ryan just straight up answer a random guy PM really politely even if it was a dumb question. Better yet, it was me asking some questions and i hardly even know the guy nor does he know me. Thumbs up!

I mean a cage is nice for sure, but a 5 point harness OVER an airbag? Anyway, I think that was more about the car running well rather than living with the car on a day to day basis.

Obviously the car isn't a daily driver anymore guys, no need to sweat it.

I realize my question about "what do you mean when you say stock" probably sounded stupid, but I asked because so many times guys will say "stock" and then you find out they have cams or something.

That's pretty damn impressive that the engine is still stock block and internals. Nicely done!
