How often do you change the Oil?

So now that we know your engine is stock, what kind of oil (& weight) are you using? Being the life blood of the motor, I'm just curious of this being a factor in keeping the engine in sound condition.

With so many things being anticipated about the motor, for one, the oil getting dark (viscosity loss, bad designed rings), and presence of fuel in the oil (even after a tune to eliminate the factory rich ECU programming), I'm also curious how often you change your oil (although I imagine after every race), even though it's hard to compare to a street/seldom track EVO X?

i did run my car on track and now in rally. The car is very close to stock since day one compered to Ryan car. I have 0 issues since i got it. Only my MAF did go bad so far.
No transmission problems or anything.
Now i'm using it mainly on dirt or gravel. Sometimes on tarmac still.

I have a lots of track miles in mine too. But not as much as Ryan.

Believers in the 4B11 huh? I like it. I'm seeing people give up on this engine stating it's never going to be as great as the 4G63 but this is promising.

The 4B11 has only been out for only a couple of years and it's been proving people wrong time after time. Only time will tell how the 4B11 will compare to the 4G63, but so far it has proven itself and in some surpassed the 4g63.

thinking about the first couple of years of the 4G63T... Wasn't shinier then the 4B11T for sure.
Also this subject is beaten to death , so we need just skip it. This thread about the X and we should discuss that only.

This thread is about the X, yes, but one can't ignore the fact that Mr. Gates here is pushing 35+PSI over 8,200RPM and road racing like crazy on stock internals making 500WHP with NO issues. I think we can all agree that's impressive.

Yeah this 4B11T runs so rich from the factory around 9.7:1- 10.5:1, you can do a hell of a lot to it before the EGTs get too high and its starts running lean. Ive researched and - seen MBC, intake/ exhaust, intercoller piping (upper and lower) with Big front mount, around 100whp over stck with no tune and still right around where the wrx and sti are (air/fuel) wise the factory approx 14.1:1. This is all skeptical and I'd love for it all to be true so please correct me if someone knows different, I havent actually seen it in person yet.

I think that we can all agree that 500 awhp on stock motor and gets trashed on the track like no one business is pretty impressive.

This doesn't surprise me, Mitsubishi's are built pretty tough to begin with... Outside of the paint and plastics our cars are rather solid! Your car looks great, I'm glad to hear it takes the abuse it does and refuses to die! Congrats and good luck.

crash beams are the only thing you named that is really needed.

remember, he has racing seats with harnesses and other safety measures.

I would DD a car with no rear interior, spare, airbags or audio.

I personally like my a/c though. But i rarely use it.

Depends on how much luxory you need. Crash beams are needed though i think.
