Someone Help. I'm stuck.

Hey Guys,

I'm using the AMS AC Delete Kit and I can't seem to find the serpintine belt tensioner. I've seriously looked in the book and called AMS too and the guy didn't know. I'm stuck. Someone if you could help a brother out.

Thanks.

Zeus

most new cars are fitted with auto adjusting serpentine belt tension systems. That is there is a moving pulley in the setup that is kept in place with a spring mechanism. That is called auto tensioner. In order to find which one that is move/rock all the pulleys in the system back and forth one of them will be able to move and come back to place. That one is t he auto tensioner pulley. it is kept in it's position with the load of the spring and once the serpentine belt is loaded you can release it to provice tension to the system hence the name implies. As a reminder you may need to apply moderate (dont ask me what torque that is) pressure/force in order to move the pulley.

all u need is a 1/2 inch extension and a 1/2 inch socket wrench. there is a spot to put the end of the extension in. its a square on the arm of the pulley. its real easy.
