This is very odd??

So yesterday I was autoxing at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, pretty much all day with multiple back to back runs with no problems until the last run...

This particular run I let my friend who's also an instructor do a lap (running pretty low on gas by this point) with me as a ride along. Everything is going great until the last 1/4 stretch of track when all the sudden there's a loss in power followed by the warning and service engine lights. So he pulls the car back in to the staging area, the car then begins to idle around 2K? hmmm this is odd, so I have him turn the car off and back on. The idle goes back to normal but the idiot lights are still on. By this point I'm very confused and call it a day, so I pack my stuff and head home. Maybe it was in my head but the car just felt a little doggish on the freeway ride back home until I finally pulled in for gas (car is on empty by this point). I then fill my tank about 1/2 way, start the car back up and no more idiot lights and cars feels like it has all it's power back and is driving normally again??

What the hell is going on, could it have been a fuel starvation problem? I'm stumped

From: Tx,
i think when your pulling those big lat G's, you starve your car with fuel, cause you are already low.

I think he hit limp mode. Sudden loss of power, crazy idle stuck at 2k. It was fine after restart, your imagination. After 3 cycles (On/Off) the lights go away.

My opinion.
