I want the versatility of a sedan, but with a kick in the pants. Also, I want a car that is mod-able with good gains. Aesthetically I like the evoX. I just got back from test driving a used one with 5K miles, SSS, and Aero packages. Guy sticker priced at $29,500 and asked me for what I want for a deal. Told him the deal with the G and said I want to trade and wash clean. Also told him that I got a quote for that price for a brand new one at Libertyville Mitsu so he needs to make it worth my while. I'm in a good position as I am not financing so buying new isn't going to give me a benefit of low financing. I will have to see what he comes back with.
This is more helpful. The Evo seems like it would be a good fit for you. If you can make things work financially, I don't see much of a reason to not go for it. The car has great safety ratings and your kid will fit just fine in the back seat.

My wife has a G37S sedan (6MT). Have you considered one of them? Just an option.

One thing about the Evo (especially coming from a loaded G37) is that you'll miss out on the luxury features and feel of your Infiniti. Probably big time. I sometimes hate getting back in the Evo after driving my wife's G37. The craftsmanship and materials are so downgraded in the Evo. But, the driving experience is better in the Evo, so that always puts a smile on my face.

Good luck.

I have both cars. An 08 G37S 6sp MT and an 08 Evo GSR. Both are great cars but in different ways. The G is comfortable with a nice quite driving style. The Evo is more of a in your face harsh ride in comparison. I love both cars. My G is the daily drive and I pull out the Evo on the weekends when I can't ride the bikes. I also don't think you will get 32K for your G. My 37S with Premoum and nav won't even go for that (already tryed it 3 months back). Thats why I kept both. My. .02 would be to keep both and enjoy.

Thanks for the insight guys. I am not as attached to the luxury immenities of the G as some owners are. I have an 01 T/A WS6 and find it as enjoyable as the G even though it's equipped about as well as a port o potty. Guess I just love driving it.

You have a fairly decent car with the G37. I dont think it's that bad to keep the car or possibly just get something cheaper with more room as a family car. The power delivery on the EVO will be much different that your G so be prepare to expect that.

If you want raw power then go with the X but if you want plush and confort then go with the G.

I find power delivery in the Evo similar to the G actually. You can feel the EvoX pull once you get over 3000rpm and boost builds. Very similar feeling to how VVEL works on the G granted it's N/A. Also, most of my mods have given most of the increase to the mid and high rpm ranges. The clutch on the Evo is easy to make smooth shifts whereas the G has a very narrow engagement. I didn't get on the handling as much as I would like, but taking a corner at a decent speed seemed effortless. The seats held me in right. Nice and tight on the sides. leg room in the backseat is excellent compared to the G coupe. The one thing I found as a con compared to the G is when in the evo and moving at 5-10 MPH downshifting into 2nd gear you can feel the car begin to choke a bit. The evo seems to accelerate best when in the correct gear and is unforgiving when rpms are low and and in a higher gear. Not that it's an issue. I probably would have been fine if I put it in first, but it is something I noticed. The G has enough torque down low to move in 2nd or even 3rd from a low speed roll(coming up to traffic or waiting for the light to turn green). The clutch pedal felt a little cheap, but the steering wheel felt solid, the interior cabin isn't as cheap as I thought it would be given that it seems to be a big gripe in reviews or owners personal tastes.

I got 308rwhp and 270(s)tq with the bolt ons. The tune netted me only 10hp/8tq in addition to the bolt ons. N/A can be a ***** to get much out of and the cobb tune and technosquare tune are the only ones available on the market. Neither allow to adjust cam timing.

I tried to find info if there is any changes from the 08 GSR's and '10 GSR's, but haven't found anything. Seems like the rear lights changed on all evo's and the MR has a wingless 'premium' model. Anything I'm missing?

Libertyville are kinda being jerks about making deals. South suburbain mitsu is a little better and am working with them to get a decent deal. If all else fails there is a 5k used GSR with SSS and Aero for 28500 in Joliet. I wouldn't take it unless it was an additional 2K off, but don't know if that will happen.

I do like the white, but does it have Aero or any other optional equipment?

By the way, getting kbb value off from a trade in or private sale is definitely impossible at this time.

Good luck
My son is in a booster that's padded well so I just need it for leg room, plus kids get used to sitting in any car, just need the leg room in the backwhich I think there is plenty of when looking at it today. Plus the bucket seats in the G and T/A kinda make him sit awkwardly anyway. I kinda sit closer to the wheel when driving stick so I'm not in full lean mode like an automatic therefore even more leg room for my boy in the back.

I would look into the problems with the evo before you complete your decision.

i just sold my 06 g35 privately and the dealer trade-in offers were just a slap in the face. i sold it privately for thousands and thousands more lol. once you start talking numbers with the dealers, you'll have an idea where you stand. the problem is that most new car incentives have disappeared in hopes of an auto recovery, but in reality, were just getting started. if you do find a dealer or set yourself on an evo x, send me a pm letting me know how it went. i might wait things out given that the new car prices aren't anything to go crazy for and just pickup a slightly used one.

I had an 05 g35 6 speed after my 03 evo and now i just went back to a 06. There two different cars. I have yet to drive a x so I really cant say but imo they really dont compare. I miss the luxury of the infiniti and how solid it felt. I know your 37 is even better than the 35. I would almost keep the 37 there a very nice car. I just had issues where my wheels got stolen off it twice disabled my alarm and everything. I kind of was fed up and got rid of it.

What bulbs are the fogs? I was thinking about ordering these as well. Just didn't know what they were.

they are H11's. they look like a 9005 or 9006 but the pins are different. one of my fogs went out, so i crawled under it to see what size it took, and just happen to be h11's, so i already had these HIDs from my scion tc!!!
