Hi All, so here is my situation. My son is hitting growth spurts and isn't sitting as comfortably in the backseat as he used to. I have 3 cars right now. The G37 coupe, Trans Am, and saturn 4 door. The saturn is getting old. So that leaves me with two two door cars and I'm thinking it may be best to trade in the G for something practical. The trans am is paid free and clear and I really want to keep it for some time. Anyway, it's an 08 with 6mt, premium and nav. It has around 10k in miles. It appraises for $32,875 in the 'good' range on KBB for trade in value. There is no defects with it. I only owe about $8,300. So the difference is about $24,500 in my favor. I could get a new 08 evo GSR for around $27K providing good negotiations as there are plenty of GSRs on mitsu lots. I also could trade in the saturn for maybe an additional 1K or just sell it on my own. So I'm thinking I could basically trade in both the G and the saturn for a evo with minimum out of pocket and no loan. I kept the original exhaust, cats, and intake so that is easily revertible and could load the stock map back on using the cobb ap.

Does this sound like the best course of action?
What would you guys do?
Know anyone interested in buying a G37?
Would I be better off reverting to stock before pulling up on a mitsu lot?

I'm not set in stone with my decision, but at the same time I have a good opportunity to get into an 08 at a good price while not putting myself into a financial problem.
you have more space in the back of the g37 than you will in the evo x my daughter is 5ft and she is tight in the back. besides all the warranty issues even if you keep the evo stock. rattles, cheap plastic interior ,tranny issues, fuel pump relay being bad ,fuel line recall coming up the awc drive going bad in cold weather!!!!!!!.your going to need to replace the tires for winter as the stockers suck in anything other than dry ground.. wow i would keep the g37 if i were you

If you want raw power then go with the X but if you want plush and confort then go with the G.
stock vs stock the g37 will beat up the xand the evo power stock sucks! so the power delivery will be different not as much as the g37

stock power on the restrictive paper filter running rich is so bad on the X, I take my laptop with me to the dealer so I can tune it before I take it back home. I can't even drive it 10 miles untuned. totally ghey.

Uh, he would have to get snow tires on he Gcoupe also..i had an 06G35coupe, loved the car, but if the new G37's are anything like the 06's the cold weather got to the manual trans on those also. I remember my G makin all types of noises in the winter, AND they had an oil consumption problem. The car was brand new and it made lound rattling sounds when it was cold outside. Infiniti claimed it was normal...tried launching the thing and the clutch pedal stuck to the floor. Luxury performance but you couldnt drive it hard. Yeah i miss heated seats and power adjusting steering wheel but i love my X alot more. And RWD in the winter for the loss....i got caught in a slush storm one morning coming home from work and had to park the thing...thank god it was a lease. Both cars have their negatives but the X is more practical.

You're going to hate yourself in the Evo, after coming from a G37. The Evo is cheaply built and does not even compare, in terms of build quality, to the G37. If you truly care about practicality, then you'll look into a used G35 sedan, G37 sedan, or something like the Acura TL/TL Type-S

To all you who have owned the G37 or currently do, what is the cruise range on a full tank?

330 miles to a tank for me. A little of both highway and city. Avg. about the same MPG as the Evo but has a bigger tank.

I get about 270-280miles to a full tank. I do 80% city driving and have a tune where I run a little richer. The engagement isn't a problem it just takes some getting used to. The window where the clutch begins to grab to where it's fully engaged is very narrow. Driving the evo for the first time was way easier to make smooth shifts. 1st - 2nd shifts are the jerkiest, but I'm at the point where I can make it smooth if I need to and usually do, but sometimes I jerk here and there. Especially if I haven't driven it in a while.
