On most car's you can replace it with the filler ones, I've never done with with my evos. On my older cars, it's cumbersome to pull them out and slide them in. Plus if you bend the metal strips when sliding them in you'll have to make sure there's a good seal. Especially to see well through a window, I'd recommend just biting the bill putting in a good set.

x2 on the cheaper inserts. The wiper arm is still fine when it is two or three years old anyhow. Another thing is the $25 wipers only last 18 months- just like the $5 ones. I'll get $5 inserts or if i can get a discount, the dealer wiper inserts.
I'll also say that the newer your glass is, the longer the wipers seem to last.
