If you keep rotating the wheel, the mitsu emblem will eventually be upright!

In all seriousness, what are we looking at? bubbling of the finish on the wheel? Looks like crap to me, especially if the rest of the wheel looks good (as in, you have taken care of them).

From the picture it doesn't seem like something you could have done on your own so I would think you would be able to get them to work with you. You never know, though.

yeah, the rest of the wheel is fine, but this bubbling has been there for a while now... I am going to try to get it replaced when I take the car in for the fuel line recall.

That's odd. If it's something with the finish, I don't see why it wouldn't be covered under warranty.

the bubbling under the paint is caused by corrosion. we replace wheels all the time for this at my dealership(lexus). shold be covered by the corrsion coverage. just remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

I'm pretty sure if there's no "perforation" due to corrosion, they'll tell you to **** off

If you have the "Wheel and Tire" package it shouldn't be problem to replace. I've used it for 2 tires so far, but not for wheels.

Good chance to get it replaced, but if I were you I would just have them powdercoat them, they will sandblast them and get rid of the rust, then coat them and make them nice and pretty.

Probably depends on the dealer. Back when our 2002 Protege 5 got rust bubbles on the hatch within less than three years I went to two dealers and they both said they couldn't do a thing unless there was perforation. Maybe if the paint starts peeling you will have something. Enkei makes the wheels so you may want to check what they cover for warranty as a base to start.

I'd let that slide...you'll need a dealer that won't be put off by a nit-picker when it comes time to hit them up for something substantial like a clutch/trans/turbo/lower end failure.

This was the EXACT reason for my post. My gfs Protege5 was rusting terribly. We went to several dealers for warranty work and they all told us they could not do anything unless the metal was perforated

Mazda's are such trash. We had more issues with that car than any other car in the past 20 years and we only owned it for three years from new. Traded it in on a 2004 Ralliart that was problem free before we traded it in.
