Sorry i'm tired of these salemen and their constant BS so I want to ask the pros who bought their cars out of state and had it shipped to their state:

1. Is there a fee associated with buying a car out of state and having them shipping to the state you reside in (Maybe a VA tax against it?)

2. Can you guys tell me how much it cost to ship a car from the West to East coast? For reference maybe from CA to VA (I live in maryland)

I've just been dealing with so many stealerships in VA that I am convinced they will do anything/say anything to rape me for my money.

Any input is appreciated.

bro, its simple...go to yahoo auto's and they'll give you a breakdown of the invoice on the car and all the options. simply walk into the dealership and start a couple hundred under that price and work your way up till invoice. unless your really trying to get this car for next to nothing, you should easily walk away with paying invoice, which isn't bad on a brand new model. if not, then walk and keep looking.

be happy you don't have a 10% sales tax like in chicago!

I bought my car in the state next to me and didn't pay any fees. I payed my states sales tax which was 2% lower.

I live in Ga,and usually buy my cars in Fl..closer to the dealerships..I get hit everytime with a tax bill for a about 700-1000 in state tax..So youll have to check our states tax deal..fl charges 6% and ga charges 7%..so you have to pay the difference..not that big of a deal to me..hope this helps..justin

I don't think there is fees. And you should ask dealer about shipping cost and try cut that price off from your purchase price.

a few things to consider are that you will most likely have to pay your state's sales tax on your own before you can get registration - so you'll have to pay that money up front, rather than possibly having it rolled into your financing. You will also have to deal with getting the car state inspected (even though its new) and registering with the DMV. None of these issues are a big deal, but you might spend one of your days off getting things sorted out.

I got my evo 8 in Philly i live in louisiana. But i flew up there to get it and drove it back. It was like a regular transaction for me. I put money down on it and got Gmc to finance it sign some papers and i was off. I did have to call my insurance company on a saturday lol and get the owner to approve giving me temporary insurance to drive to car back to LA. They then sent me like a 1000 rebate and i used that to help pay some of my TTL in LA. I never paid TTL for philly taxes lol. LA was like 1900 haaa. Car would not be registred till i paid LA fees. I waited like one month to pay. When i got back i had 3 days to make my policy for insurance with state farm of course. I did have to pay for document fees and such up there but other then had rolled out and that was a year ago
