Has anyone bought an EVO from out of state???
just as title says, i am curious if anyone bought their EVO from out of state. if so, how does the tax and fees work?? and anything i should pay close attention to?? to be more specific, i am interested in californians buying their EVOs from other states. But all inputs are welcomed. thanks in advance
Yes, I did. I am military stationed in this ****-hole called Texas but a resident of sweet, precious Pennsylvania. You pay taxes and fees of the state you are going to register the car in. Instead of paying the TX tax of 6.25%, I paid the 6% of PA. Same with registration, all-in-all, it saved me about $2K.
IL/MI
I bought in Illinois and registered in Michigan. I financed the Michigan sales tax and the dealer gave me a check made out to the Michigan Secretary of State. I too saved like .25% and I also didn't need to buy a $75 Chicago city sticker every year.

I bought mine in KY and paid KY sales tax which was immediately returned to me via a check from the dealer. Drove home (OH at the time) w/ a KY temp tag. Cashed said check to pay for taxes and registration in OH.
