X GSR as a DD?
Oh, and how similar does it really feel to RWD when it is pushed? Can you hang the *** out? I am going to go test drive one but I doubt they will let me wrestle it around too much. And I am sure it will see a few track days just for ****s and giggles plus some time in some private salt flats

I think you will have a hard time hanging the *** out unless you fully disable (hold for 3 seconds) the stability control.
Oh, and I think it's fine as a DD. Certainly a nicer DD than my IX ever was!

If you want something that blends in a little better, and that's why X is coming and IX is going, why not order the new one without a rear wing, or is that only an option for the new MR Touring edition? Regardless, some people post that they can get a new trunk from the dealer for only $350, swap back in taillights, and you're done.
Selling my DD and trading in the IX, not sure what to get but maybe the X GSR. IX was a garage queen with occasional track days, but I built a race car so no need for anything like that anymore. And it just felt too fragile to DD it.
Ok, so anyone who DDs an X GSR, how does it hold up to regular use? It will live outdoors and it doesn't snow here, but will see a bit of rain. Reliability? I would probably chip it but that is it for mods, my IX is still stock. How does it deal with speed bumps and steep driveways? The IX would scrape the plastic air dam everywhere, is the X about the same?
Any other just general stuff I should know?
This is not a X vs IX thread, IX is going bye-bye no matter what I get. I love it, but it is not something I can DD even if I wanted to given where I work. X blends in a little better

Awsome as far you don't drive in heavy trafic.
will see a bit of rain.
Evo X love the Rain and bad weather conditions you can corner it 50 m/h in wet street without worries at all becouse the stiky fat tires, AWD and all the electronic controls

i really recomend you Cobb Access Port stage 2 octane 93, full exhaust and CAI. if you want to feel like driving an evo

i had no issues so far. i drive it inside the city only. no suspension upgrades or mods. suspension is kind of harsh. go slow with the speed bumps, you will feel it in your spine. lol
RWD RWD doesn't make any sence for me anymore, loosing control of my car is not funny anymore with so many people driving. AWD rocks!
Done over 12k miles using my GSR as DD and decided to make it my weekend car and got another DD car. Love the evo though the following were really annoying as dd:
- lack of 6th gear - it's LOUD above 75mph
- almost no trunk space
- parking/city manouvers
- high running cost when using as dd
Therefore if you already have a weekend toy i would recommend going a different path (used BMW 1/3 series for example).

I DD my 08 GSR non-aero. Love it, 6th gear would be nice, but it's not too bad. I also run a Greddy TBE, and it seams less annoying than the stock did. As for cost, I had a Range Rover before this so I cant lose there! I did have an 06 STi before the RR, and i think it drove a little smoother than the X, but it was the Sailor Moon of sports cars...
Road noise is a little high, but i'm down to 2/32 on the stock tires, I'm getting Dunlop SP's put on later today, that should help there.
+1 on trunk space. It's bad. I can't even fit my clubs back there
Car does not feel like RWD, you can get some oversteer if you disable the ASC but it's pretty rough on your diffs...

I have a race prepped track car (very loud inside) that is still tagged, but it is an '88 so it is from when they would still start every morning. I have dealt with it on 200+ mile trips so I doubt that the drone will bother me. What do you mean about running costs? I am assuming you mean oil changes and tires, but I can write those off. And as for maneuvers, I am guessing you mean it has a **** turning radius like the old ones?I forgot about the tiny trunk. I am going to have to measure a couple things (especially my rifles) to make sure they fit before I go do the test drive. Do the back seats fold in the new ones?
