I have a carbon hood on the 240 and it sits out all winter. It has no damage or anything on it and it has been completely iced over. I wax the hell out of it before and after every winter. Depending on how that roof is attached, there might be a problem in the cold. If you are worried about it I wouldn't do it.

^^^I say this. Wax the crap out of it and don't get it if you think it would cause you alot of worry/stress. It would look really good on your car tho.

Yeah I guess it would look awsome but its not that its scared me, I worry if im driving on the highway and who knows maybe ice or small rocks land on it and crack it during really low temperature!!!

But if you say all its supose to survive winter then i might order it soon

Well I have mine on even though I don't leave it out in the sun all day. It's been awhile already I had it installed and no leaks what so ever I've been in heavy heavy rain and not a drop.

carbon fibre is very tough, so i would think it would be able to handle the winter... Nice part for the X btw

wax is good but temporary, use a good sealant with good uv protection. the sun's rays are stronger during the winter so the extra uv protection is helpful (prevents peeling of the clear) plus a good sealant will last months vs weeks for a wax. plus if you really really want that wax shine you can always wax over the cured sealant for the extra shine and additional protection from wax.

but the op's question i think was more towards the cold vs cracking. here's what i understand, if it's installed correctly (no water leaks) you wont have water expanding from freezing which promotes cracks from applying pressure between the panel and the body itself, furthermore the carbon fiber panel itself shouldn't crack due to the cold, it's a very resilient composite. just make sure it is properly uv protected and you will be fine.
