Seibon fender vents completely closed?

I just received Seibon fender vent replacements and they are completely solid un-vented pieces of carbon fibre. They aren't like the ones they have in their product photo with the mesh. What gives? Anyone else have these?

I know Mitusbihsi says these vents assist in exhausting heat from the engine bay, but has anyone actually tested this?

I'll get some pics up tomorrow. The vents are at the shop. I may just have them modified.

Has anyone actually done any temperature readings at the vent openings?

Yes. Definitely fit the Evo X and are straight from Seibon:

Yeah, I'm not sure why Seibon redesigned their vents and closed them. I'm wondering if they sent me the leftover stock of the April Fools edition.

I'm also starting to wonder if these vents are functional. Anyone found the ducts from the engine bay that lead to the area behind the vents? I assume they are somewhere if these vents are supposed to help "exhaust heat from the engine bay", per Mitsubishi's description.

I would call them and make sure it wasn't a mistake on their part. Reason I say that is I just recently ordered a set for friend and they were vented. I also have them on my car and they are also vented. Could be a new design or something but I would double check just to be sure.

I've definitely seen Seibon vents on Evo Xs and they are vented. I'm not sure what's up with these but they're going back to Seibon.
