Question is there a DIY for unpainted hood/fender vents

I just bought a 2012 evo mr and the hood vents and fender vents are the same color as the car (wicked white), has anyone removed the paint from these to make them unpainted? If I were to buy them it will set me back about $400.

Hood vents - Undo the nuts (I think they are 10mm) and pull them out.

Fender vents - Pull the fender liner up, pinch the clips on the back of the vent and push it out. You're going to need new double sided tape to re-install them after you paint them.

Was wondering if anyone has stripped the paint off of them, with paint remover. How would it look afterwards, does it look like the unpainted ones.

So it is impossible since vent plastic is white, just went ahead and bought unpainted vents, hoping to sell wicked white hood & fender vents on eBay (fingers crossed)

I'd be extremely surprised if this worked in the way you hope. I suspect the stripper will either, not work effectively enough, leaving paint in all of the corners and such or too well, and damage the plastic. Why not just switch with someone or paint them a different color?

Why go through all the trouble for black vents. You should've bought a GSR model instead. Black vents are for ricers.
Leave it alone or you will end up paying more for the damage.

paint remover doesn't really remove paint like that
you'd have to sand it down w/ a DA sander and 180 grit
of just tape and spray with plasti dip.
