I must admit I made a tidy profit in selling my Supra. I sold it in a few days. I would rather have traction over speed.
I think you need to choose based on your personal lifestyle. If you have the luxury to have both then go for it.
I have a friend who just sold his Supra as well and he doesn't regret as well. I think we were already for a change. Sold his for a Z06

No but the supra holds its resale value better, proven. I don't really care if anyone agrees with it, its just the way it is. Again, i think it comes down to what you really going to do with it.... Its the same thing with the NSX's with low miles
if you do a full build on a supra - full suspension - full brakes - replace seats - build engine - turbo kit - too me, thats a new car......
people do that with evo's daily as well - whats the difference on the reliability factor there?! Kinda a mood point if you ask me.
Then it comes down to handling - sure the evo ranks in probably the top cars produced but if he REALLY has a Supra that weighs in around 3000 and a tuned suspension - that car is going to turn without a doubt. If awd was the best platform to build on , why are the fastest cars in the world rwd? ie - enzo - f430 - noble - etc. etc etc etc.
Looks - thats an easy one for me - supra without a doubt wins this category for me.
People keep saying dated looks - really - ask yourself why acura / honda kept the same body styling on the NSX for how many years - that body style that really still resembles the new ones. the look doesn't get old and it performs the way it was designed.
Without a doubt the evo is easier because of the 4 door and awd but if you live in the south or west and dont have to worry about the seasons - who gives a crap if its awd or not...
Buy some cheater slicks for the supra if you want, it will hook at some point
I love my evo and living in the midwest - no way would I get a supra because i love the snow too much - the best of both worlds would be a modified supra and a dd mildly tuned evo x because ryan gates is my hero

The supra is a proven platform.......if I was going to get rid of a supra I would replace it with another car with a proven platform so I would go for the IX and it's 4g63 IMO
If you really are getting rid of the supra I'm interested, been looking for one for a while.

I said fastest cars - not fastest car
I know the buggatti is the fastest and awd -
let me rephrase
the fastest drag cars
the fastest race cars
the fastest productions cars are rwd
dont mistake my comments by not liking /loving awd - im hooked and will never own a rwd but if it was it would be a NSX or a Supra.

even porsche's too
Supra is for straight line, to make it turn right you have to spend a fortune.
Get a power is easy to make it handle great that is a trick in racing.
Also i'm not flatterd by 1300hp. i like the clocked times better
I dont realy car how much hp or g you pull , the time it runs is interesting for me.
actually one of the good example is the evo.
Everything goes against it.
Weight - shape - power, and yet, it hangs with the better shaped more hp and less weight cars on track. So there is one perfect example to see the hp numbers are not everything.
i personally never been passed by supra on road track. But they had they chances . I'm not saying there is none out there , just i didnt met with that one yet.
here is one with the TT win. but not in my area.

by the way the supra also not invincible...

ETC.
eu test stock Supra vs Evo...

/ side note...the Eu evo IX is 276 hp. and different tires not like the US. ones, they are not as good./
so i wouldnt be on that high horse with the supra.
Its a nice car if you like it but no god by any means. /not like any car is really are , unless its cost some crazy amount of money/
Juts a fast car for straight, comfortable good looking, Sporty.
Its about taste.
But i dont see any godness in them , fact since i own one i even see less. I had a hype for them too, until i faced with the reality when i got one of them. That car is not for me.
If its a sporty car the i would get an exige over the supra even when its slower .
So anyway my point is here . The Supra has more hype as its deserves. Kinda like the EVo 6. in the US. I still think one of the best car came out from toyota around 1996-1999 is the Celica GT-4.
I think this saying comes for the States too:
"The neighbor grass is always greener"
And i think he needs to get a GT-R instead the EvoX if he likes the supra style.
If he looking for fun on budget then a X is a def. winner out of both.

So what kind of quarter miles can a 700 whp Supra run on street tires anyways? 10's at 150 because of traction? I think Buschur is going see about pushing a streetable Evo X into the 9's this year but it will take a decent sized GT35r turbo or larger to make it happen along with a decent sized list of supporting mods. It's probably going to take 800 crank HP (~600 whp Buschur Dyno) to get high 9's at 140 mph unless he decides to put the somewhat heavy Evo X on a major diet. I know it can be done but it won't be easy. The strength of the Evo X is not pure straightline speed as many say, but the combination of great handling and decent speed potential.
