FROM 700whp 6sp supra to evo x?
i love my supra and i just can help dd driving it. ive been interested in evo 10 for a while now and ive been in rx7's and supras for years now....lately....especially since we got 12 inches of snow on the east coast ive been contemplating getting one. i looked at one today...
ive been searching alot trying to come up pump gas numbers. basically comparing my supra on pump(550whp) at 2700lbs w /driver evo 10 what?
how much power you guys think i would need for a evo 10 to keep up 1/4. what normaly breaks from launches at the track?
thanks guys

If you are looking for 1/4 mile, the X isn't for you. It doesn't have the pull above 80 that you will find in bigger block cars. Honestly, for that kind of stuff, get yourself a used Mercedes C63 or Vette or find another Supra. All great in their own ways and stronger on the high speed pulls.
I love my Evo X, but that 2.0l doesn't have that high end pull of bigger engines. Some of those Mercedes are just ridiculous when it comes to that stuff. The Evo X will give you complete satisfaction when it comes to handling, but look elsewhere for raw power.

haha yeah, my buddy's had 500-600 whp supras years ago, and have all since got rid of them.... I thought about buying one of them, but so glad I didn't. when it snows, or anything else.... I ****ing love my car so much.
and don't really do quarter mile of highway pulls, so I guess I don't feel I'm missing anything.

He didn't buy it yet...
There is no way a X will keep up in terms of power to weight as mentioned by everyone. 1/4 mile, forget it!!! I think a lightly modded X is a great DD though!
As far as what breaks, certainly the clutch is the first to burn out then the differential pins based on info located on the forum.

It sounds like I am in the minority, but I don't care about Supras at all.
Other than an insanely robust inline six that can make ridiculous power, they are pretty much old tech. They were heavy for their day, the styling is dated, the handling is so so at best, and their values are flat out ridiculous for what you actually get.
Most. Overrated. Car. Ever. For the price of a clean Supra, I would much rather have a used first year GT-R.
Trade for the X if you don't want a GT-R, and get over the straight line speed, or get some cheap uber modded Mustang on slicks for your dragstrip fix, and still have enough money to buy a new X. The X handles substantially better out of the box and has at least a bit of utility.
