ASC Off, ABS Required Servicing

Hi,

Had been driving the Evo X for 11 months and today got this message flashing "ABS Required Servicing" ABS & ASC Off. Anyone encountered this and care to share how to solve this problem. Thank you & Merry Xmas.

You can't disable ABS. Get the code pulled. I had a wheel speed sensor go out on a prior car with a similar error...

I had this on my x three weeks after I got it from the dealer. It was a wheel speed sensor also.

Do u replace the wheel sensor or it can be serviced?

I replaced it, the sensor itself is non-serviceable. $130 from mitsu, and it took 20min to replace.

This will be covered under warranty. Why are you worrying about it?

Oh boy... Is the Evo X really a pile of bad parts? Sensors going bad, fuel lines, relays, recaros falling apart... Kinda making me reconsider buying the X even though I pretty much have it reserved already...

No, it's not a bad pile of parts. Any new vehicle will have "issues". You should know this walking into such a situation. Just be thankful that you have a half decent auto manufacturer that is willing to correct these "issues" in an expeditious and efficient manner. If you aren't 'Ok' with that, I would suggest looking into another vehicle.

Yes. I completely agree with you. Mitsu warranty ftw.

Now enough with the sarcasm... I'm going to buy an USDM imported Evo with no warranty (I'm from EU) since EUDM Evos cost about 30k usd more than importing one... (Yes, I'm serious) Now I've been making a list of stuff that can possibly go wrong while scavanging the forums - meaning I'm writing down stuff and preparing for possible expenses and ofc doing recalls on my own since the dealership won't do them here for an USDM car.

So far I have:
- ABS Sensor recall (we have winter, we have salt)
- Fuel Line recall
- Exchange Fuel Relay
- Center Diff Pin upgrades
- Cluth Master Cylynder upgrade

Possible issues coming soon:
- Recaro material popping out
- Speed sensors messing up the ABS and will require replacing
- Maybe a pedal will break off somewhere too

So basically, what we have here is just a few minor issues that I seem to have noticed about the car and I'm probably missing some too. And about the half-decent car manufacturer, I guess I'm spoiled by the Evo IX which was like buying a tank. It simply worked.

Plus its an internet forum and you can hardly expect the mass majority to post "hey my car is running great, every sensor working and boy are my Recaros and fuel lines are really holding up."

Todd: I was just reffering to issues that I've seen WAAAY more than once on this forum which means there's an obvious pattern. But that's just because I am strong believer that proper maintenance and a rock solid tune saves you 95% of the mechanical work. If I counted the one-ofs than the list would be much longer.
