SUPER BAD mileage?
It's impossible for me to get fewer than 150 miles before the first gas warning comes on in my X, and I have a LEAD foot. That's about 240km, so it should be easy to get at least that much. An entire highway tank got me double that, so getting about 500km out of a tank should be possible.
So I'm not surprised to hear that kind of numbers.
On highway, at around 85 mph I ave a consumption of around 19 mpg that means around 280 miles with a full tank. I think it's very difficult to do better than that, unless driving steady at 50 mph...
In any case, the wrong level indication is another story and I think our friend has a problem with the floaty in the tank.

Unless you want to work on it yourself, take it back to the dealer. It sounds like they screwed something up. The fuel level sensor is a float attached to a lever which moves up and down across a rheostat on the outside of the fuel pump housing. Some ham-fisted mechanic can easily bend that arm / lever so that either its no longer calibrated or the contacts are not touching the rheostat all the way up or down.

no luck for me, i run 94 octane, with a cobb stage 1 93 tune
and highest i get is about 340-350 km per tank.
60% highway, but i am usually not babying the accelerator
so maybe thats decent mileage ?
