I'm pretty sure if you pay the right amount at the dealership they will be able to retrofit it. As for the milleage issue, there is probably another module in the car that records it and sends it to the guauge cluster.

How do you know that? Can you point to a section/page in the Service Manual that indicates this?

I don't know about the Lancer/Evo, but on two other cars I've had with digital clusters, changing the cluster did not affect the mileage shown. In fact, I drove my old Kia Rio with no cluster at all for about 20 miles (needed parts for the LED swap I was doing) and when I put it all back together the new miles were there. Seems odd they would keep the mileage info inside the cluster rather than in some other module, but like I said, I dunno about the lancer/evo. If that is the case, I could see people disconnecting the cluster or replacing it to reset their odo....

Just realized how old this thread is. Ooops. Found it when i was looking for info on the LED's inside the cluster.

Evo X cluster

Does anyone know if the Evo X cluster fits a Lancer GTS? Is it gonna be a simple plug n play?

Thanks.

I can tell you the DIY method of getting the guage cluster. Trade in your 08 Evo X for a 2010 Evo X.

i heard somewhere that you would have to send your stock cluster somewhere to get the mileage transferred onto the new cluster and there was other loads of hassle which would make it not worth it

I just did this. A local speedo shop updated the mileage on the cluster, and other than that it's a 15 minute plug and play replacement.
