Question New to 2010 EVO X, need some help and info

I just recently purchased a new 2010 GSR and have the common question of what to do first?

I don't really have tons of money to work with at the moment but some of the things I have seen were the COBB AP which I wanted to know what was the signifi of this add on, I know to retune your ECU but I guess can I get better gas mileage from this add on? second was a air filter, def was gonna do a AEM cold air, Remote start, Tint the windows. Possible short throw and a BOV. I'm not heavy in to racing it too much so don't really care as much about full out exhaust just yet, or any internal mods. ALSO has anyone heard much about the synchronic BOV from synpase? good or bad?

I just wanted to see if some of the more experienced EVO guys out there can give me some advice and heads ups.

Thanks guys!

Here's a map database for the '08 USDM Evo X that should give you a pretty good idea of what's possible with the Cobb AP (accessecu.com link). Don't think the 2008 Evo X maps are compatible with 2010 models (maybe?) and I haven't seen any 2010 Evo X maps available yet.

Just read through all the posts here, maybe twice, and you'll be off to a good start. Good luck!

1. NO BOV. I mean it.
2. Drop in filter is good enough, K&N, HKS, Works, etc. After a tune, the AEM won't get you any more power.
3. Get a tune on a dyno. Ecutek, Cobb Pro Tune, whatever you tuner uses. You will be much happier with a custom tune than off the shelf maps. Check the foum for tuning shops in your area.

This will more than satisfy your need for power, and it won't break the bank. Good luck.

Why do you say no BOV?

The stock diverter valve is good. And until you reach the point where the stocker is, literally, leaking, there's no reason to buy a new one.

Plus, new Evo + BOV = looks like rice

(1) Custom Tune from a good tuner around your area.
(2) Drop in- optional
(3) NO BOV
