I think TheSIn has swapped the USDM crashed beam for JDM one. He might be the expert at this.

Update:

I finally had RRE install my Rennline receiver + tow hook:

I also bought a new tow hook hole cover and used the Dremel with a sanding cylinder to bore out the middle. Fit pretty well.

Looks like their E82 mount, so $125 in parts. I'd imagine the install takes a little work.

bracket = $24
hook = $95
labor = $160
oem cover = ~$15

so ~$300 all together

but now no more fear of getting yelled at at the track. plus... i think the stainless steel color matches well with the rest of the car. it doesn't really stand out much, so i think i can leave it on.

I like it! Thanks for the pics, I'm gonna try it myself. Looks pretty straight forward. Looks like they just drilled holes and used bolt/nut to fix the bracket with some washers to account for the curved surface of the bumper.

that's just about the right price dude. t1r's is ~$75 from evasive, but other than that, most of the domestic and low-end jdm brands are ~$100. brands like spoon and hks will be > $140. besides... the difference of $20 relative to the price of the entire package is not significant.

subtract the labor: its an easy DIY
subtract the cover cost: use your existing one

new total: $119
