AMS intake bungs vs no bungs

I was just about to order the AMS intake and saw the option for "bungs" and was wondering what the pro vs cons are. Thanks for any input

It will work without the bungs (I know multiple people running the intake without the bungs), but in my case, I have had idle issues ever since I installed my AMS intake with the heat shield without the bungs. Now whether or not the bungs have anything to do with my idle issue is a discussion all in itself. I would have gotten the bungs if I could do it all over again, just to take that one factor out of my idle issue equation.

Pros:

Less hoses running all over your engine bay, cleans it the rear area of the intake up

Cons:

None, except for my idle issue, but it could have nothing to do with the intake

Did you ask AMS?????????

Questions like this frustrate me to no end. AMS is a well-respected tuner and vendor for this site. Who better to ask than the guys who build the part? They're a great group of guys who have a track record of doing the right thing for their customers.

So, pick up the phone. Send them a PM. Send them an email. I "George Foreman guarantee" you'll get the right answer from them.

Yeah, great customer service. I went without the bungs since I'm going to install a catch can. Who wants oil going into your nice intake?

Regarding your idle...you did tune after installing the intake? Mine is still in the box but I really do wonder if I should stick with the airbox.
