New Evo, Dealership Questions
Weather permitting, I'm picking up my MR in NC on Wednesday. There are a few major issues that I've been concerned about, such as paint chipping and the awful Advan tires that come stock. When I go into the dealership to start haggling, what do you guys think the chances will be of them swapping the tires for some all-seasons? Or for tossing in a set of mudflaps? I live in WV so the advans will get me killed in all this snow. Even if it were summer, I'd be immediately buying a different set since their performance is awful anyway.
Since this is my first car purchase of this caliber, I've no clue how issues like this are handled.

As far as mudflaps, don't waste your time with dealer mudflaps. They don't do anything. Get some rallyarmor mud flaps. They stick out and prevent a LITTLE more than nothing. Best advice is to get aero kit + mud flaps + clear bra on front / back doors.
As far as tires, you can haggle for tires, but don't expect them to put the best tires on for minimal price. That's the kind of stuff that will come out of their pocket. Better just to talk them down on the car.
BTW, I've drove with the evo 8 stock advans, they actually did just fine in the snow / ice. And that was without ACD. If I were you, I'd save them for the summer and get some all seasons for the winter.

Yeah, I was planning on getting the RA mudflaps anyway but until they arrive it'd be nice to have something -- even throwaways. Actually, I may just go buy a $5 POS flap set to throw on temporarily until then.
And since I'm apparently an idiot
I'll likely just order a cheap set of winters or all-seasons along with some decent but cheap wheels to hold me over until the weather improves. But if I do end up selling, I'll totally throw them up on here before anything. On that note, I'm already considering trying to find someone with a GG GSR trunk to swap for my MR trunk. The wing is ridiculous...

I'm going to get either the Do Luck or GSR non-SSS trunk. And a simple swap would obviously be cheaper. I want something on the trunk, but the giant MR wing is just too much.

LOL thats what im saying. I know im a noob too when it comes to specifics on an evo which is why im lurking on here to learn as i search for one to buy. But i surely do know that the stock advans do not suck, and the wing is the same on any trim.
Sorry sir but i think you might wanna stick to the ralliart and let someone else take that evo before you ruin a good car

And the wing IS ridiculous. Fortunately I'm not alone in the only one who thinks that...
