The evo is not good for driving 100 miles a day. Period.

My commute is only 16 mi round trip on nice smooth roads. It would depend on the quality of the roads for me to daily commute 100 mi daily in an Evo. Hitting highway expansion joints and going through urban interstate construction would get real tiring real fast. Any time I go through roads that have those conditions, I know there's no way I could DD an Evo on them. However if the roads were smooth and winding, that's a different story.

Sounds like you don't want to want a boring commuter car which is why I have an Evo X myself. As much money as people on these forums spend on mods, it's hard to take seriously any advice that suggests driving a civic to save money.

Answers:
1. SS Camaro prices fluctuate, but no one is buying domestic the past few months. They sticker it at $45K, but you can take it for early $30K area if you buy smart.

2. Any RWD vehicle is a poor choice in a snowy state.

Does an evo X make sense for a long commute daily driver? I drive 50+ miles one way to work, but its 99% highway. Im seeing with some tunes getting 24+mpg highway? I plan on being stock maybe intake or exhast but thats it. I would want to be able get to 100k miles on the car. Anyone commute daily? I am also looking at used mr's, for 6th gear. So am I crazy? Is the X a good choice for this?

I commute 70 miles a day. I have no problems. If you want a sports car you know gas will not be as good as a prius. But if you can afford it, then I see no reason why its a bad commuter. I run E85 and fill up every other day. I am loving my car. I could commute in my M3 but never want to drive it. I just like the fun of the evo, even though it is only for a few on ramps and off ramps. But thats just me.
