haha. i did the same thing. I was looking at the first pic for like 5 mins!

OP, Sorry to hear about that. It will be totaled I got in to a small accident too. I think they had the replace the bumper, intercooler and piping, and radiator and it was like 10 or 11 grand. And it definitely sounds like something with your tranny is broke.

your gonna be old one day yourself, be careful what you wish for. This never became more apparent to me than when I was in China last may and one of our guys went in to get a chinese dr lic and they said you can't be over 60 to get one.

I remember that thread. Just bad luck for you with that Evo. Hopefully you'll have better luck with a new 2010.

By the way, if for some odd reason they do not total the car, don't forget to ask the other guy's insurance for a "diminished value" claim. Google and do some research before you ask.

sorry to see this. i feel you about the old people driving though. On my way home from class, this old lady tried to pull out and turn left, but then realized there was traffic, and just stopped dead in my lane. thankfully i hit the brakes in time, and no one behind me rear ended me, but i agree with elderly getting tests every so often.

Sorry to hear mate,

Unfortunately it's not just the older drivers that don't deem it important enough to look both ways...

Hope it all works out...

I've got too much into mods now to allow my car to be totaled. I'm definitely getting a daily driver soon.

Old People Driving = Scary $hit

I swear they never cease to amaze me; stopping in the most rediculous spots, inching forward while waiting to make a left than slamming on the brakes.

This is why I had it towed to my house, If they total it, I will swap out for stock parts before they haul it away. This is a very good reason to save your OEM parts, otherwise they devalue the care when you take stuff off of it.

My dad (a retired police officer) and I calculated the speed off of my skids last night, we determined I was going about 35 MPH, the speed limit is 40.

I'm pretty sure I let off the brakes right before I hit him, because the skids go about 20' then hook a very sharp left and dissapear. It was one of those things where you know it was goign to happen after you hit your brakes, slow motion like. On his car I only caught the very front, basically took off his radiator and bumper, if I hadn't swerved I am thoroughly convinced I would have impacted his door.

It still goes in gear, although when I do it sounds like something is clinking around.

This is EXACTLY what happened. However, after looking over my right shoulder to merge, when I looked back he was just sitting there in front of me. I put my foot to the floor and did all I could to avoid him.

----To the rest of You--- Thank you for the kind words, I highly appreciate it, I'll keep you updated with the insurance company's course of action.

Damn, that blows. Just remember these words, and repeat them to the other guy's insurance company as many times as necessary: "If it weren't for your client, I wouldn't be in this position".
