help me-crank start problem.
help me-crank start problem.
after changing the fuel pump to walbro 255 and add on a in-line filter, it is now harder to crank start, most of the time i need 2 cranks. 1st crank always fail and even when i turn on the ignition switch and let the fuel pump to work for few second before crank start and i hardly start the car smoothly on 1st crank start.
So, what is the reason? and what could be the damage if i crank start twice to start the engine?

Have you tried priming the fuel pump prior to starting the engine? Turn the key all the way to the on position so that the radio, desh, etc. are all on. The fuel pump should come on and pressurize the fuel lines at that point. Count to about 5, then tried to turn the car over. See if that helps at all.
Also, depending on where you are (i.e. temperature) you may have an issue as described in this TSB: https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=...ZGQzMWVi&hl=en
So you may want to order those relays and try replacing them as indicated on the TSB. While you are at it, you can do the fuel pump relay if you haven't already. Per the diagram for the Evo X in the aforementioned TSB, it should be location A27x.
