Fool Proof Method to Protect Your EVO?
Sounds like a good idea, if you're in the market for an AP.. park car, flash ECU to anti-theft, take AP with you. Just not sure if another AP could be used to reflash or not.. plus, it really wouldn't stop anyone from loading your car onto a flatbed to take to a chop-shop.
Being armed might help, but only if you live in a Castle Doctrine state (LINK), where using deadly force to protect your property is legal.

You are misinterpreting the Castle Doctrine. You can not use deadly force to protect against theft of property. Castle Doctrine refers to burglaries where you are in your residence and someone breaks into your residence.
Alarms do not work, and garages work about as good as an alarm does. Any caveman can break into a garage.
Honestly, if a good thief wants your car bad enough, an alarm, lojack, guard dog, or anything short of you sleeping in it with a shotgun...none of that will stop them. They'll get your car if they want it.
For the everyday thief, a good alarm system can help. Along with some of the other suggestions mentioned.
Best deterrent is to park in an enclosed/locked garage overnight.

Go to 1:49 in the video (or watch the entire thing; these are all funny)
its just sad that some people especially nowadays will do everything to steal a car. Best bet would not to drive the car in common unsafe places like the mall. If you have another car use it instead of the evo, if you live in an apartment like I do, pay extra to get an enclosed garage as already mention and just plain common sense.
Well the only thing I can think of is what they do at Dealerships. They park the cheap worthless cars in front of the more expensive cars. They have them lined up on the entrances and exits to the lot. So maybe if you put enough crap in front of your car you might get some advanced notice while the thieves are removing the worthless stuff to get to your evo.
Another Idea is to pay some bum $20 a night to sit by your car with a baseball bat. if the thieves offer $21 you might be SOL though.

Yes, I think you're correct.. it seems that in most Castle Doctrine or stand-your-ground states, you can only use deadly force if the vehicle is occupied. So therefore, you'd be protecting yourself or perhaps someone else, but not the physical property itself. A few other states aren't quite as clear, but in any case, I am not a lawyer =)
i love the trunk monkey chaparonne hahaha.
back on topic. in my mates prelude he has what appears to be a screw under the dash that he has to touch to earth out the ignition circuit when he starts it. could something like this be done to the evo?

Heres what i do to keep my car safe while parking at my daily job in the city:
First step:
Get your breaker bar or rachet

Second step:
Take floor jack and raise until you reach your desired height, then place jack stands under jack stand points, then remove wheel.

P.S. if jack stand is not available look for a near by cocky guido who is willing to show off guns to girls walking by

Third step:
This is the key step in anti-theft protection, make sure that you can find a wrecked evo in a junk yard that has a square wheel, if the wheel does not have four 90 degree corners this will not work, next you must paint the outer lip of the wheel hot pink, neon green, bright orange, or purple so that the car does not stick out and catch the eye of the theif, then replace wheel and lower car to the ground once all four square wheels are installed.

Final step:
Buy quick release hub and pop your wheel off

Your car is now safely secure against burglary, but please remember to leave an hour earlier for work until you become a master at installing wheels.

Pretty nifty device that will entirely immobilize the car. Wired so complex that they have a select rep per region that has to do the install.

This combined with turning the front wheels and locking the steering wheel knuckle under neath would make flatbedding most likely not worth someones time.
But as stated above if someone is determined anything is about possible.
