if they got a flat bed your screwed no matter what, even if you turn your wheels, plus i've seen jacks that go under the tires and lift it to slide cars sideways, so pretty sure crafty people would have those. if they want it theyll take it. Just garage it or get a wife with a sixth sense like mine, she can tell if someone is walking by my car or even looking at it for more than a few seconds, been proven on more than one occasion. LOL

Exactly!

Pager alarms do work as long as you can back it up with some muscle or are very threatening. The problem here is that car thieves are criminals. They break the law for a living hence they are hard nuts. If you are not a hard nut you ain't gonna scare them off. Best advice is, as you say, to get replacement value insurance. Why run the risk of getting slotted just to protect a car? Someone I "know" tried to appropriate a Jag XJ12. It had a pager alarm. When the owners turned up mid-heist they said "How the ***c do you think we got the car in the first place?" Time to run away...

Uh.. I just tried locking my steering wheel for the 1st time tonight, and it wouldn't lock. Left it in gear, ebrake on, turned off ignition and removed key, and then turning the wheel in either direction only moved the wheels, but didn't lock the steering wheel like other cars I've had.

Is this normal for the Evo, or maybe for a manual or something?

A good hidden kill switch interupting fuel pump voltage is a good bet. There are also wires you can interupt in your ECU wiring harness that will prevent getting the engine started. As for flatbedding the entire car, if you are lowered they are going to have a heck of a time getting it on there without making a bunch of noise and scraping the front end, maybe some sort of hooks under the front end that would dig into the pavement if towed backwards and it bottomed out. Of course that would suck if you ever needed a tow and they didn't bring enough wooden boards to lessen the angle onto the flatbed. As far as getting under the car, I can barely get a jack under there to lift it from the side, I suppose going super low would prevent anyone from easily getting at it.

Its not that easy, dont get me wrong it is still the wild west here but there are many fine lines.

A good alarm or putting it in the garage every time is good enough. Or you can go old school and get The Club.

there is no way you can protect your car 100%. If they want it, they'll take it.

sleep in your car. But like was said earlier, its only a matter of time. If they are stalking your car, an organized group buy ****** it.

just get some GPS tracking on that, and chase them down

Can your wife add my car to her 6th sense? My girlfriend doesn't have this function, lol.

I don't live in an area that sees much theft, but if I happen to drive in an area like that and get out of the car to go somewhere I will simply set the AP to theft mode.... problem solved.
