got around $2k to spend on mods, which route to go?

option 1:
swift springs, Greddy SE catback, AEM CAI

option2:
a set of off brand coilover for less than 1500, AEM CAI

option3:
top rated coilover for about 1900 and HKS drop in air filter

I would have to go with option 1, because it offers both performance and looks. A complete replacement of the coilover system can come later.

If you aren't tuned then start with exhaust, drop-in, and a tune.

which brings it to my next question. for a simple drop-in filter and catback, do i need to re-tune the engine?

If you factor in wear and tear, that'll pay for 3-4 trackdays!

Nop, but you would get more power with at tune.

Cobb AP w/ custom tune or a tune from somewhere on a dyno. Then you should still have about 12-1500 bux left.

If you are on the stock tune then you don't need one right away. If you are already tuned then you need to retune if you change your intake or exhaust.

The tune isn't just about adding peak power, though...a good tuner will make the car feel better and smoother everywhere in the powerband. My car even idled better after the tune!

Option 3. I never recommend using off brand coilovers.
