hi all,
Just wanna help our my friend to check out whether any bro from this forum had ever experience this follwoing stated problem as him, he is on JDM SST(MR) 2008.
When travels up to 86degree-tranny temp(temp probe is located at oil sump), "slow down" message prompted, and the car lost all gears. It refused to engage until it cools down to 80degree. The failure code is P2742: Fluid temperature sensor system (Output low range out). even it engages at 80degree, it is not smooth when changing gear.
The weird part is, it happens on normal road driving condition with a bit of congestion, and evoscan reads SST Tranny temp at 137degree when it shows "slow down" message and the engine temp is 105degree. Hell no, we know all this is not possible.
so we got advise to reflash with original map, but this never help, same failure at same temperature of 86degree.
We suspect it is due to ECU problem, which it reads the wrong "amplified" signal and react accordingly.
His MR-SST is not modified recently so there shouldnt have any problem caused by the tuning, however, his ABS sensor was found malfunction 3 weeks back and he is still waiting for his warranty agent to get the part to replace, which I am not too sure whether it causes the current failure, i cant link them up anyway.
