2010 Evo X starting issue?

So once in a while, I will have to crank my Evo 2 to 3 times to get it to start. Is this normal? Could it be a crappy battery?
I have an 2010 evo X sss with 6k miles.
Where can I find warranty issues and problems about the 2010's?

I doubt the relay is the root of the problem.

I was reading on the ralliart forum that sometimes it helps if you put your "key" into the accessory position for a couple of seconds and then start it. This is due to a noted problem with the fuel pump engaging right away. Could be the same problem? Not sure but try it if you can

I usually pause in the "on" position and allow the fuel pump to finish priming the injectors before moving on to "start". A habit I picked up from my old car (wrx) which had to let the UTEC boot before starting the car. Silly habit, but it seems to work well.

Occasionally it will give me issues if I try to start it without pausing. Always starts the second time though.

this is is no way normal, you should get it checked out, if its not starting right away its not right. I would get the starting system checked, after all its under warranty.

At least for the Ralliart and tons of threads confirm that it is normal, at least for the RA.

Which battery do you have? If it's the Panasonic battery, it is the likely culprit. That battery has been known to "die" prematurely. Had that happen on my Evo X and the dealer replaced it with an Optima Redtop battery under warranty.

Get a test done on the battery at a local auto parts store. If it shows the battery needs replacing, call your dealer and set an appt. to get it replaced.

Dealer put in an optima battery cause all the evo's wouldn't hold a charge long under warranty.

Our EVO MR was rough starting when cold and there's a TSB for it and we just had the ecu flashed and wow it's smooth everywhere, shifting too (doesn't apply to your clutch). Tell them to flash the ecu to the most recent.
